Following internal testing of the 9M1Z station, it came to the attention of 9M8HAZ that the assigned DXCC entity remained invalid within WSJT-X and N1MM (and potentially other FT8 and log programs). This meant that contacts made with the 9M1Z station would not be properly credited for DXCC purposes.
Proactive in resolving the issue, 9M8HAZ contacted the FT8 developers. A support representative promptly directed 9M8HAZ to Jim Reisert, AD1C, who maintains the DXCC country database and is responsible for DXCC assignments.
Thankfully, the response time was swift. Within a few hours, 9M8HAZ received confirmation via email that the DXCC information for 9M1Z had been updated and corrected. The previous designation of West Malaysia was amended to accurately reflect the station’s location in East Malaysia.
This successful update ensures that future contacts with 9M1Z will be correctly logged for DXCC credit. A sincere thank you goes out to Jim Reisert, AD1C, for his prompt assistance in resolving the issue. Additionally, appreciation is extended to Philip Rose, GM3ZZA, and Jim Shorney, NU0C, for their contributions to the successful resolution.
